Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. will also present Indoors Out! Free Kids’ Paint & Sip on Friday, June 3, 5 to 7:30 pm, at the parklet and outdoor seating area at The Marketplace Cafe, 53 North Street.

Hotel on North, 297 North Street, will feature CYCLE THERAPY – watercolor on the move by Marguerite Bride for the June Artswalk. There will be a reception with the artist on Friday, June 3, 5 to 8 pm, as part of First Fridays Artswalk, and the show will be on view June 1 through July 31.

“We all found different ways to ‘muddle through’ the past few of years of upsetting news. I knew my ‘comfort zone’ would include lots of painting, but I also knew I needed a focus,” says Bride. “After lots of thinking, and false starts, I found my ‘therapy’ in painting bicycles, hopefully creating interesting ways to depict one of our favorite modes of recreation, transportation, exercise, adventure, and just plain fun.”

Two artists from the Guild of Berkshire Artists will show their work during the month of June at TKG Real Estate, 137 North Street. The show will be entitled “Interpreting The Female Gaze” and featured artists are Mary Davidson and Ilene Richard.

There will be a reception as part of First Fridays Artswalk on Friday, June 3, 5 to 8 pm. The work will be up during the month of June and can be viewed when TKG Real Estate is open.

“When I see my pictures, they make me laugh”, says artist Mary Davidson. “How nuanced we have become. Women of the Guild of Berkshires Artists turn their attention to painting women. A show of large, sophisticated works celebrating the myriad ways women see themselves.”

The Lichtenstein Center for the Arts, 28 Renne Avenue, will present “Creative Aging: 65 and Better in the Berkshires” for the month of June. The exhibit will be on view from June 1 through June 30, and there will be a reception during First Fridays Artswalk on June 3 from 5 to 8 pm.

On view will be twenty-five profiles of active, engaged community members who are 65 and better in the Berkshires which were created by volunteer writers and photographers who are members of OLLI, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Berkshire Community College. They represent thousands more older adults in our Berkshires community who give back in many different ways and help transform our stereotypes of older adults.

The Brothership Building Window at 141 North Street, curated by IS183 Art School of the Berkshires, will feature artwork by Lily Erb, June 3 through June 27. Lily Erb is a queer maker from Charlottesville, Virginia. She has been focusing on creating soft sculpture after a discovered love of sewing while in residence at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in the fall of 2018. During her time at Ohio University, Lily has incorporated performance to her soft sculpture practice as well.

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Pittsfield, 175 Wendell Avenue, will present a show by Lisa Valenti for the month of June. There will be an opening reception on Friday, June 3, 5 to 8 pm, as part of First Fridays Artswalk, and the art will be on display through June 25.

“I am a visual artist. I do not have one specialty, as I enjoy all forms of the creative process,” says Valenti. “I’m an abstract painter one day and a collage artist the next. I love to explore resin while also turning furniture into art.”

The Marketplace Cafe, 53 North Street, will present Samantha Sadlowski for the month of June. There will be a reception with the artist as part of First Fridays Artswalk from 5 to 7:30 pm on June 3.
